Le Belvedere Quebec Wedding
I’ve photographed weddings at this beautiful venue in the past, but I thought Merry and Ben’s Le Belvedere Quebec Wedding was definitely one to share as this day was a little bit different:
Merry and Ben had a Monday wedding (yes, Monday weddings are a thing!). And the forecast was calling for a full day of rain. I should give a little context for those who have not been to a wedding at Le Belvedere. This venue is stunning and many couples book it based on the incredible views of the Gatineau Hills. So a rainy forecast can definitely put a bump in a couple’s plan for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. But, when asked about her back-up plan in case the ceremony got rained out, Merry said rain or shine – she was getting married outside regardless. As a wedding photographer, I can’t help but smile when I hear this – because in my opinion, rainy ceremonies make for the most romantic. And let’s be honest – a little rain never hurt anyone!
The thing that really stood out to me was Merry and Ben’s plan for a more personalized day – they had an average amount of guests, but they went without the large wedding party and hired minimal vendors. Their family did all the flowers and decor, Merry did her own hair and make-up and just their two siblings stood beside them during the ceremony. I loved this, as it allowed for some amazingly intimate getting ready photos and less fuss over details and events throughout the evening.
It goes without saying this wedding was a pleasure to photograph. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did:
Thanks to LE BELVEDERE WEDDINGS for being such amazing hosts (as usual), I can’t wait to come back! And also, a small shout out to Jasmine – the wedding coordinator at Le Belvedere – who provided us with towels & snacks when we ran in the building soaked from head to toe. 😉
