When Adrian asked if I would shoot their Royalton White Sands wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica, I was so excited. These two seemed so relaxed and adventurous, I knew they would be the perfect pair to take photos of in this beautiful setting. Plus – Cara is a rock climber, so I thought I would ask them climb over everything for their portraits (to which they happily agreed)!
I also love destination weddings as I get to spend more then just a wedding day with the couple and their guests, getting to know them and what is important to them. Something I find helps me capture the day in a way that best suits the couple.
The day was incredibly relaxed. Adrian and Cara left lots of time between each event and since everything in the resort was so close together, the wedding guests were able to walk around and even change into swimsuits and hang out in the pool between the ceremony and their reception.
I took the two after their cocktail hour around the water to take some beautiful sunset photos. The sun hits the water beautifully and, like I mentioned, these two were willing to climb! So, I took them out on a small spit of rocks, which turned out to be some of my favourite photos.
During their reception, I also noticed an incredible full moon lighting up the beach. I snuck Adrian and Cara out to the waters edge to take a photograph. With slow shutter speed, I was able to backlight the two with a bright moon and not have to use flash. Something that is almost impossible without any artificial light in the middle of the evening!
I would absolutely recommend a wedding at Royalton White Sands, Jamaica for a beautiful desintation wedding spot.
Thanks to you both for taking me on your wonderful wedding adventure!
