National Arts Centre Wedding // Nathalie & Jeff
Nathalie and Jeff helped knock off an item on my photography bucket list: I’ve been hoping to capture a a National Arts Centre Wedding since moving to Ottawa. So you can imagine how excited I was to receive Nathalie’s email. The National Arts Centre is a modern venue in an amazing location. In terms of bright and beautiful venues downtown Ottawa: this is one of the best.
Nathalie started off getting ready at the Lord Elgin (right across the street) and Jeff at his parent’s (just a 5 minutes walk from the NAC). The ease and closeness of the spaces made for a truly relaxed wedding morning. Their ceremony took place on the “grand stair” that connects the new atrium level to the mezzanine above. Nathalie walked (in heels!) with her Father down the ‘aisle’, which was really down the large stair case because she is a seriously brave bride. With the guests seated on the stairs and a wall of windows to the left, it was such a unique ceremony space and so much fun to photograph. And their reception space – The O’Born room – is equally as beautiful as the rest. It’s a brand new space with floor to ceiling windows and stunning views of Parliament and the Chateau Laurier. It was the perfect setting to enjoy dinner, listen to speeches and dance the night away. I had so much fun and can’t wait to photograph there again. The whole day was just a breeze and I am so happy I got the opportunity to photograph this wedding. Congrats again Nathalie and Jeff!
